Pitot Static and RVSM Certifications

Pitot Static and RVSM Certifications

Leading Edge Avionics was built on the principals of safety, experience and customer service. And you’ll see those pillars woven through virtually every aspect of our certification services. In addition to offering a complete set of the latest FAA certifications, we also offer Pitot Static (91.411/413) and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RSVM) annual and bi-annual service certifications.  And like all of our services, we stand by our work. When you need your certification done correctly, put your trust in Leading Edge Avionics to complete the job right the first time.

Reduced Vertical Separation Minima or Minimum (RVSM) is the reduction of the standard vertical separation required between aircraft flying between 29,000 ft. and 41,000 ft., and allows more aircraft to fly in the same volume of airspace without compromising safety. In order to maintain your own safety and the safety of other aircraft, it is critical that your RVSM equipment is operating properly at the highest possible standards.

Our experienced team of certification technicians have been providing Pitot Static and RSVM support for our customers throughout Southern California for decades. Leading Edge techs have an incredible depth of knowledge and understanding of the certification process, consequently they are experts at solving even the most persistent challenges. Our team is able to quickly diagnose and provide the necessary actions to insure positive certifications. If your aircraft is coming due for its annual or bi-annual certification, please give us a call and we’ll take care of certifying your aircraft quickly and safely.

Your pitot-static system is critical for determining your aircraft's airspeed, Mach number, altitude and altitude trend. A pitot-static system generally consists of a pitot tube, a static port, and the pitot-static instruments. It is generally connected to other instruments such as air data computers, flight data recorders, altitude encoders, cabin pressurization controllers and various airspeed switches. It is a complicated part of the safe operation of your aircraft and one that takes a well-trained team of experts to service correctly.

Errors in pitot-static system readings can be extremely dangerous as the information obtained from the pitot-static system, such as altitude, is potentially safety-critical for your aircraft. In fact, over the past few years, several commercial airline disasters have been traced to a failure of their pitot-static system. So, don’t trust your pitot-static system certification to just anyone. Make sure it’s serviced by the industry’s best, most reliable and established repair station in Southern California – Leading Edge Avionics.
